This app repeatedly lags, freezes, and crashes. On the rare occasion it does work, it often fails to save your meme, so you have to reload and create it all over again. I’m done with this garbage.

There is the option to SAVE IMAGE AS:....., where I am expecting to apply a file name and file type of .bmp, .jpg, .gif or some other picture file type that can be attached to emails...but NO. Unless I am missing something......useless.
I have dozens of apps on my iPhone and iPad to create very quick MEMEs and I was hoping I could find one for the Mac. This seems to be the only one that’s of value. Its good, not great, and has some potential. Its a little combersome in the file handling (no drag and drop, which I found odd). Also, you get ONE typeface—the one he chose. That’s sad, I have dozens of fonts I wish I could be using in this app. I’m hoping the developer fixes this quickly. Also, the “stroke/dropshadow” is too much, overkill and if we had the ability to maybe edit that then it’d be a great addition. If you don’t want to give 100% control, maybe four presets of stroke/shadow to choose from. However, give us the ability to use more fonts is a major must have in todays world.
I like how it syncs with the iOS app. And the ability to make your own meme is quite excellent, but the app definitely needs improvements to achieve more stars: - Font should be able to be delineated by entering a number for size, or a slider, or clicking and holding on the Increase/Decrease font size. Clicking a hundred times to change the size of the font line is pretty ridiculous and annoying. - Why not add in fonts from the system? Yest, most memes use Impact, but sometimes we’d like to use our own. - Took far too long to find out how to import my own picture. Please put a button in the interface, rather than only having a selection in the Taskbar dropdown or using a hotkey. Beyond that, it works well. Will receive more stars when these changes have been made.
I have just installed this on my MacBook, it fun & easy to use! I haven’t had any problems with this App!
A very good supporting and developing team that lives up to customers sexpectations.
I will use this for some time to determine how much I like it.
It started crashing randomly a couple of months ago. I hope there will be an update soon..
When someone gives you a free app, I’m pretty grateful for that. I don’t see any flaws - easy to import images, you can change the font size and position. its a MEME generator..not photoshop!
Love the app, works well! But if you’re creating specific memes it’s probably for something funny and immediate, and it’s hard to a) search for the meme you want, and b) you can’t drag a meme background easily (Meme Generator sometimes unexpectedly is missing a common meme background - like “Sophisticated Cat”). So it ends up taking longer than you want to use the app. I always think twice now whether or not making the meme will be worth the time spent importing a meme background, or scrolling through and hunting for the meme template.
easy to use!! idiot proof
It seems like a great program and worth it but i cant figure out how to get an actual photo in there!
This app offers a quick and simple way to create memes using several built-in templates, and the option to upload your own images for custom memes. For a free app, I’m not sure why other users are complaining. There is also a mobile app version that you can download on your iPhone that also works well.
The developer could do so much more with this app and I hope it gets more fonts, better image handling like drag and drop and also the ability to make variable size images. As it is the app is fun, super easy to use and worth the money. Add more features and I’d be happy to pay more.
Works perfectly….great job...
WONT INSTALL on El Capitan
Price: Free Very good basic MEME creator.
This app does what you need. It could stand to have some UX improvements: 1) Drag and drop of image files. 2) Numeric specification of font-sizes instead of clicking several times 3) Auto-naming convention for ease of export, with file overwrite option. This is definitely a clean, very mac-like meme generator, though.
I’m gettin what I expected (Default) memes to choose from and its a reliable and useful choice, but what I enjoy is my own snapshots that are added to the mix. No Bugs or glitches that I have found so far. No Ads, or prompts to buy anything and its free
Only one font and it’s an ugly one.
